Herbicide-Pest Complex
In this multidisciplinary research study, we evaluated the impact of weeds, herbicides, soybean cyst nematode, and secondary insect pests and pathogens (if present) on soybean production and yield. The impact of these pest complexes and management strategies on grain quality was also being determined. The research was conducted on commercial soybean fields throughout the state, and the results were compared to studies conducted on ISU research fields and in controlled environments.
Our goal was to provide growers with knowledge that will help improve efficiency, plant stands, and profit. The project was coordinated by Dr. Micheal Owen, Iowa State University, in collaboration with our lab and with Dr. Greg Tylka, ISU.
This study was funded by the Iowa Soybean Association.
