Soybean Yield Potential

Considerable effort and expense has gone into research on soybean stress, weed management, and soybean pathogens in recent years. The Yield I & Yield II projects, sponsored by the Soybean Research and Development Council, are examples of research projects that have resulted in excellent soybean management recommendations and a greater understanding of important stresses and interactions that affect soybean growth and yield.

What we still need to know is the current soybean yield potential in Iowa. This would help us set future directions for soybean research and management recommendations for the state. The goal of the Soybean Yield Potential project is to determine the current maximum yield potential in Iowa.

This study was funded by the Iowa Soybean Association.
