Ron and Maria, PFI leaders for more than 20 years, operate a successful mid-sized farrowing system. They grow/market diverse organic crops: corn, soybeans, barley, oats, popcorn, and mixed alfalfa. Integrated into the farm are a 40-sow deep-bedded farrow to finish operation and a 90-head cow-calf herd; meat is marketed direct and through a co-op.
Beginning farmers David and Ellen will be married September 4. David owns 70 acres and rents 120. Raising corn, beans, oats, hay, and a pasture after oats.

The first ever Breeder and Retailers Showcase will highlight the work of the recently launched U.S. Testing Network, a group of breeders and seed companies testing hybrids. Check out the demonstration plot and spend quality time networking with retailers and breeders.

Dan’s farm is a certified organic grass-based farm that produces high-quality grass-finished beef. Managed rotational grazing is the primary tool used to harvest forage on about 500 acres of permanent and cropland pasture.

Grinnell Heritage Farm produces USDA certified organic vegetables, flowers, and herbs. Andrew is a 5th generation Iowa farmer. The 80-acre farm has been in the family for 153 years, and is counted amongst the oldest family farms in central Iowa.

Rick and Stacy have operated Small Potatoes Farm since 2004. They own 10 acres and have approximately three in production each year. Their crops are primarily distributed through their 100-member CSA. The farm is an intensively managed, certified organic, human-scale farm, focused on raising high-quality vegetables.

The ISU Student Organic Farm is a student-run club that manages 1.5 acres of vegetable production, creating a functional, educational, CSA-based farm, increasing community awareness and support of local food systems, and practicing and experimenting with organic production methods. Mustard Seed Community Farm is a 2-acre, cooperatively run vegetable and herb farm operating according to organic principles and community-oriented food production. The farm provides produce to a 20-member CSA, food banks, community meals, and farm workers.

This 800-acre organically certified farm has a rotation of corn, soybeans, small grains, plus some legumes. Oats, barley, and canola are the small grains currently in the rotation. The first field was certified in 2000.
