Teaching Effort
Teaching activities include regular contributions to soil fertility (mostly to P and K) and precision agriculture aspects of the Master of Science in Agronomy distance education program (Agronomy 512 and 532) and to the course Agronomic Applications of Precision Agriculture (Agronomy 493A). Invited contributions are also made to other soil courses in Agronomy and to Precision Farming Systems (AST 333, Dep. of Agricultural Systems Technology). The contributions relate to P and K plant-availability in soils, soil and plant tests calibration and interpretation, basis of fertilizer recommendations, manure P management, use of precision agriculture technologies for soil fertility management (mainly soil sampling, variable-rate fertilization and liming, on-farm research methods), and environmental aspects of P testing and management.
